Three months is a long time...

...to wait for a post. Thanks guys for coming back.

In simple reflection it seems that most of my posts are about traumatic or negative things that happen in my life...and while I can create a laundry list of stressful things to talk about I've been quite blessed as well. Here's an update on the more positive side:

I just finished another project this last week at work and am now back on "the bench". As a consultant I've been enjoying the variety of projects I'm on and the people I meet (for the most part). There's an odd-shot that I'll spend the next two months going back and forth to Oklahoma. I'll find that out on Wednesday most likely. Overall, I enjoy my job.

Julie and I haven't been planning much for the wedding, but we have been keeping busy. In February we bought a house. More accurately a townhouse in Arlington Heights, but it's a very quiet and pleasant neighborhood. I don't move in until after the wedding of course, but she enjoys the new place. It's an attractive 3 bedroom, 2.5 bath place with an attached garage in really good condition. I'm really looking forward to married life....all the little projects around the house, being together with Julie, etc. Good stuff! We have 5 months left and it'll be a small wedding, so we still have plenty of time to work out the details.

My Tuesday night Bible study/small group has been going well. We're working our way through Hebrews now and the discussion we get is great. It's been a real encouragement to co-lead that.

My new car is finally out of the shop. After being hit and have the other guy run off (Nov) and have to pay $2500 out of pocket the car is back! It's a beauty. 2006 VW Jetta. Black. Very nice.

So many good things when I stop to think about them. God is good. Thanks be to Him...

How are all of you doing? Please drop me a post. I'd really like to know! :o)

Stressfull Weekend

Hi.

This last weekend was pretty stressful - a close friend of mine died this past week and I was a pallbearer at his funeral Saturday. He was 86 and an elder in a church I attended for a number of years before and during college. He served in Papua New Guinea during WWII and he helped me when I took my missions trip there a few years ago. I visited him often, the last time coming a couple weeks ago on New Years Eve. Frank will be dearly missed for now and I look forward to our reunion someday - he is a good friend.

I moved yesterday afternoon. It was time to move on. I'm glad the Lord opened the doors for this new place - I should be here until Julie and I get married in September.

My brother Micah just joined the Air Force/National Guard Reserve last week - he's getting shipped off for basic training this week. Please pray for him and his safety.

Tomorrow I start a new project at work. I'm finishing up a few things I've been working on in our home office today. This new project will carry me through the end of June with the possibility of extending through the end of this year. It's always a bit stressful building relationships and rapport in a new situation, but it'll be good - no rest for the weary.

Thanks for your prayers for my cousin - I saw him a couple days after Christmas. While he is healing, the pain medicines he's been on have dulled his appetite - he's 6'3" and down to 120 lbs. They just moved him into a VA hospital in Cleveland for some physical rehab. If you remember to keep praying for him and his/his family's salvation, please do.

I love you guys...thanks for sticking with me...

God Bless.

A recent history of my life events...

Howdy all,

With the Christmas season upon us, I thought I may as well update. Julie and I made our reservations for our honeymoon last weekend ( ), my car still isn't fixed, and I'm leaving for my family Christmas tour (Illinois, Missouri, Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio) on Friday evening just before midnight. My small group is taking a few weeks off until Lynn and I can get the next topic (Hebrews) put together - probably Jan 16th or so.

I just finished my project at Hyatt yesterday and now I'm back in my home office getting some paperwork done and preparing for my next project in January. I miss a lot of people - especially all you cafers. Remember the good old days? Wow. Believe it or not, I only made it to one concert this year. Times sure have changed.

Before I run out the door and into next year, one thing I leave with you: Remember to love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and all your strength - and your neighbor as yourself. Really think about that and see if God can work in you more on those things. Love ya. Thanks. Best wishes. God bless...

Until we meet again,

Josh
